DNP has acquired Sony's commercial digital photo printer business

According to the agreement, Sony has transferred to DNP its worldwide business base related to the professional digital photo printers and DNP will be providing supplies of dye-sublimation print media for Sony's instant photo printers, kiosks and ID photo printers . DNP aims to continue strengthening and expanding its digital photo print business.

SONY UP-CX1 Printer

The new Sony UP-CX1 printer high speed Digital Photo Printer offers superb quality and convenience in a very small package. This printer has the ability to create four different print sizes - 3.5x5", 4x6", 5x7" and 4x8" photo greeting cards at fast speeds. The Sony UP-CX1 printer uses Sony's dye sublimation print technology so the results are long-lasting and professional. The Sony UP-CX1 printer utilizes roll printing technology which allows for higher volume printing. Easy media replacement and a small footprint makes the Sony UP-CX1 printer perfect for space-restricted areas. The Sony UP-CX1 printer also features a Hi-Speed USB (version 2.0) interface which allows for the fastest image data transfer times.

High-speed printing
The new-generation print engine enables the Sony UP-CX1 printer to operate at high speed. Printing a 3.5 x 5 inches image takes approximately 13 seconds. 4 x 6 inches can be printed in approximately 16 seconds, 5 x 7 inches in approximately 17 seconds, and a 4 x 8 inches in approximately 21 seconds. High-speed printing of the Sony UP-CX1 printer enables high volume printing in a short time, minimizing the wait time for customers.

Matt printing capability
The Sony UP-CX1 printer offers two types of surface finish - glossy and ProMatte from one media kit.

The replacement of paper and ribbon is very simple. Because the paper is rolled with the printing surface inside, printing surface is protected against foreign substances such as finger prints or dust. Easy handling of the Sony UP-CX1 printer minimizes the downtime during busy workflow.

Variety of print sizes
The Sony UP-CX1 printer supports 4 different print sizes. User can select from 3.5 x 5 inches, 4 x 6 inches, 5 x 7 inches and 4 x 8 inches in accordance with usage. By using the optional paper holder UPA-CPH1, users can switch print size quickly and easily.
