The QSS-3701/3702/3703 is a user-friendly, efficient, multi-function
minilab system that provides the flexibility you need to respond to the
diverse customer demands. It combines the same basic features as the popular
QSS-32 series with the following two new features so as to meet an even
wider variety of customer needs.
1. The components of the operation section (PC, monitor, scanner, etc.)
can be separated, enabling you to place them on the table of your choice,
or in any layout you like.
2. Can be used as a network printer. It is possible to use the QSS-37 minilabs
in a network with multiple input devices and/or multiple printers.
The QSS-3704 and QSS-3705 are new high capacity models from the recently-released
QSS-37 series, boasting a maximum capacity of 2,360 prints per hour (4R).
Furthermore, these new minilabs can also be used as network printers, connecting
multiple input devices and/or multiple printers. These and many other features
make the QSS-3704/3705 the perfect choice for photo retailers and studios,
as they fulfill a diverse range of demands with their user-friendliness
and efficiency.

“AccuSmart™” image processing
technology employed
Noritsu Koki’s AccuSmart™ technology enables you to easily
portray the natural beauty of the scene as viewed by the photographer
when the picture is taken. This advanced technology not only provides
superb quality for well photographed images, it also applies appropriate
correction to less-than-perfect shots, resulting in extremely high quality
prints regardless of the image source.
A selection of new film scanners to choose
from (film scanners sold separately)
With the QSS-37 series, you have three new film scanners to choose from.
The HS-1800 supports a wide variety of film including 120, and the LS-600
(600 frames/hr) / LS-1100 (1,200 frames/hr) support only 135 and IX240
film. You can also choose not to add a scanner, and instead use the QSS-37
system as a stand-alone printer.
New operation software “EZ Controller”
(sold separately)
| The EZ Controller gives you the ability to easily perform many
important functions such as PJP, value-added print creation, order
management, and image correction. Furthermore, pictures are used to
explain many of the instructions for start up checks and shut down
checks, and warning messages are easy to locate and read. |

Setup prints taken care of automatically
The colorimeter is built into the processor. This enables the setup
print to be automatically inserted into the colorimeter after it comes
out of the dryer unit, eliminating the need for manual operations.
Also, the QSS-37 series has a new option called the “Control
Strip Auto Loading Unit” that automatically processes control
strips.

Interrupted orders signified by LED lamp
LED lamps (Standard) on the order sorter are used to indicate which orders
have been interrupted and which print trays the interrupted orders are
in. Furthermore an order sorter for wide prints (up to 10 inches) is available
for the QSS-3704.
NoteThe 10-inch order sorter does not support the above-mentioned LED
lamp function.
Rapid processing
In addition to the wide variety of chemicals supported with other QSS models,
the QSS-37 series also support rapid processing using CP-49E (Fujifilm).
This enables you to reduce the time it takes for the first print to be output,
and thereby provide a high quality one-stop print service where the customers
can place their order and pick up their prints in the same visit. Rapid
processing is a standard feature with the QSS-3705, so this model only supports
CP-49E (Fujifilm) /EC1 (FujiHunt) chemicals. Note: Only specified paper
can be used with each type of chemical.
Prints up to 914.4mm (36 inches) long
The maximum paper width is 305mm (12 inches) and the maximum paper advance
length is 914.4mm (36 inches), making it possible to provide a wide variety
of print services.
Triple/Quad Magazines (Factory option)
The triple and quad magazine systems enable labs that make various size
prints to set multiple paper sizes at the same time. Magazine changes
are quick and easy.
An array of options
The QSS-37 series supports the MD-2 Unit, Bravo™ II/Rimage™
CD writers, DVD writing and many other options to provide a scalable system

High resolution enables high quality prints with sharp portrayal
of fine details
It is resolution that is vital in producing realistic looking photos,
as is the case with photographs that accurately portray the scene that
the photographer views when he peers through his lens. Pursuing resolution
is our mission here at Noritsu Koki, and it is an area we continue to
make rapid progress in. The Noritsu QSS-37HD series consists of minilabs that
are worthy of the letters they bear - “HD” (for High Definition).
With a name that embodies our confidence, we bring you the Noritsu QSS-37HD series

An amazing resolution of 640 dpi (12 bits ).
This translates to 79 million pixels for an A3 size print
Having a printer that produces prints of silver halide quality provides
a big advantage for the photo retailer. For icing on the cake, the
Noritsu QSS-37HD has a newly developed laser engine that has an unprecedented
resolution of 640 dpi for both main scanning and sub scanning, and
this results in prints with 5 times more pixels than prints made with
previous minilabs. All these extra pixels result in finely detailed
prints that have a dimension that is not available with other printers. |

Raw image data processed automatically
Up to now, handling raw image data has been a troublesome affair. To solve
this problem, Noritsu Koki has formed a technical cooperation agreement
with Adobe Systems. According to this agreement, raw image conversion
software is incorporated in the EZ Controller, and raw image files are
converted to the DNG file format, and then the images are enhanced with
Noritsu Koki’s “AccuSmart” image processing technology.
Utilizing the technology made available in this agreement, Noritsu Koki
developed a system that produces optimal prints automatically, undergoing
the same basic process as when making prints from film images. This means
you do not have to do anything special to print raw image data. These
orders can be processed just like any other print order.

A large portion of the pixel data in the original JPEG image has highlight
areas that are too light. When the image is corrected, the overall
light in the image is reduced, but the pixels representing the highlight
areas that were too
light are unsalvageable.
All gradations are used, producing an image that is balanced well.
There are very few pixels with shadows that are too dark and highlights
that are too light. |
The Noritsu QSS-37HD series delivers high quality prints in a flash
Digital camera image data and image data scanned from film is easily corrected
to produce beautiful photos that closely resemble what the photographer
sees when he snaps the shutter. For example, Digital ICE and Digital Masking
are used to automatically correct dust and scratches on film, and you
can set values for insufficient peripheral light, color aberration, and
distortion, and make unrestricted correction of lens aberration. With
the Noritsu QSS-37HD series, it is easy to provide consistent quality without
undergoing any complicated procedures.

Auto daily setup
Daily setup is carried out automatically using the program timer. This
reduces the prep time required before business hours, helping you to reduce
labor fees and use your time more efficiently.
Colorimeter
The colorimeter is built into the processor. During setup, the setup print
