ICA Duster 3000 DownDraft Intended Use:
| - |
The Duster 3000 DOWNDRAFT is a mobile prep station designed
and engineered to remove harmful airborne contaminants found
in dust when sanding old paint, rusted metal and fillers. |
| - |
The Duster 3000 DOWNDRAFT should not be used as a substitute
for a proper spray booth. |
| - |
No permit is required when the machine is used for dust capture. |
| - |
When considering it to capture paint overspray from small
spray operations such as cut-ins, touch up or Small Medium Automotive
Repair Technique (SMART) you must always check with your local
regulatory authorities for proper application and approval |

The Duster 3000 DownDraft Is A Solid Capital Equipment
Investment
Energy Savings: The clean air that is
discharged from the top of the machine will force the hot air that is trapped
up on the ceiling back down to floor level within minutes. Shops with forced
air heating systems will use less heating fuel in the winter. The electric
motor operates on standard 110 Vac/12 Amps. Your cost per kilowatt hour
works out to about the cost of a cup of coffee over an 8 hour shift.
Return On Investment (ROI): A normal
return on capital equipment investment is about 18-24 months. Because the
Duster 3000 Downdraft takes up very little floor space, only 6.5 sq. ft.
(0.60 m3) it can be easily moved from station to station, this allows technicians
to take it where the works is needed. No more waiting. No more tying up
fixed prep stations or your spray booth for small preparation jobs. This
makes better and more efficient use of your floor space thereby increasing
gross profit per square foot.
Labor: The cleaner the shop, the cleaner
the customer’s finished product. The machine reduces labor costs in
clean–up, fewer redos by preventing overspray and dust from landing
on other vehicles or cross contamination with less time spent on final detailing
of customer’s vehicle. A clean shop leaves your customers with a positive
impression that their vehicle will be returned to them clean and dust free.
How the Duster 3000 DOWNDRAFT Works
| 1. |
Positive airflow discharged from the top of machine creates a negative
pressure “capture” zone at
base of unit. |
| 2. |
Dirty air is drawn in through the three intake openings at floor
level. |
| 3. |
Contaminated air is drawn through the four stage filters and cleaned
down to 3 microns. |
| 4. |
95% of the clean air is discharged through the black discharge diffuser
located on the elbow
of the plenum creating the mushroom airflow affect. |
| 5. |
The remaining 5% is discharged from the underside and along entire
length of plenum. |
| 6. |
Mushroom airflow pattern created will effectively clean up to 5000
sq ft floor area. |
| 7. |
Air is continuously re-circulated at over 3000cfm as long as the
filter media is properly maintained. |
Filters:
Each of the four (4) stage OEM filters is specifically deigned and engineered
for maximum filtration while allowing maximum airflow over a greater velocity
range i.e. from 2,200 cfm to 3,900 cfm enabling capture of harmful airborne
particulates as small as 3 microns, including toxic fumes and vapors associated
with body shop environments.
Stage 1
11704
|
 |
Pre-filter pad, fiberglass paint arrestor filter with Tackifier |
Stage 2
11205
|
 |
4" Metal framed pleated intake filter for greater surface area
allowing air to pass at lower velocity capturing particulate down
to five (5) microns. |
Stage 3
11209
|
 |
2" - 7 lb Activated carbon filter, removes VOCs, ISOs, toxic
fumes and odors |
Stage 4
11207 |
 |
Viledon discharge top pocket filter. Large surface area for depth
loading. Efficiency 94% to 3 microns, 27% to 1 micron. |
Important: Never substitute ICA’s OEM filters for other brands that
may look-a-like and cost less. They will not perform properly to stringent
factory specifications and they will not seal properly causing dirty air
to by-pass the filtration process harming the machine thereby jeopardizing
employee safety and voiding factory warranty.
